Kealakekua Bay, a marine sanctuary, is located 15 miles south of Kailua Kona town. Known for its premier kayaking and snorkeling, the bay is home to hawaiian spinner dolphins and is visited during the winter months by humpback whales. The area also has many links to Hawaii 's history and culture.
